چکیده
The main objective of this paper is to analyze the evolution strategy by use of stochastic approximation methods Both constant and decreasing step size algorithms are studied Convergence and estimation error bounds for the evolution strategy are developed First the algorithm is converted to a recursively de ned scheme of stochastic approximation type Then the analysis is carried out by using the analytic tools from stochastic approximation In lieu of examining the discrete iterates suitably scaled sequences are de ned These interpolated sequences are then studied in detail It is shown that the limits of the sequences have natural connection to certain continuous time dynamical systems

Non-linear stochastic inversion of 2D gravity data using evolution strategy (ES)
In the current work, a 2D non-linear inverse problem of gravity data is solved using the evolution strategies (ES) to find the thickness of a sedimentary layer in a deep-water situation where a thick sedimentary layer usually exists. Such problems are widely encountered in the early stages of petroleum explorations where potential field data are used to find an initial estimate of the basin geo...
متن کاملApproximation solution of two-dimensional linear stochastic Volterra-Fredholm integral equation via two-dimensional Block-pulse functions
In this paper, a numerical efficient method based on two-dimensional block-pulse functions (BPFs) is proposed to approximate a solution of the two-dimensional linear stochastic Volterra-Fredholm integral equation. Finally the accuracy of this method will be shown by an example.
متن کاملWeak Convergence of Finite Element Approximations of Linear Stochastic Evolution Equations with Additive Noise Ii. Fully Discrete Schemes
We present an abstract framework for analyzing the weak error of fully discrete approximation schemes for linear evolution equations driven by additive Gaussian noise. First, an abstract representation formula is derived for sufficiently smooth test functions. The formula is then applied to the wave equation, where the spatial approximation is done via the standard continuous finite element met...
متن کاملAPPROXIMATION OF STOCHASTIC PARABOLIC DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS WITH TWO DIFFERENT FINITE DIFFERENCE SCHEMES
We focus on the use of two stable and accurate explicit finite difference schemes in order to approximate the solution of stochastic partial differential equations of It¨o type, in particular, parabolic equations. The main properties of these deterministic difference methods, i.e., convergence, consistency, and stability, are separately developed for the stochastic cases.

A novel approach to analyzing time series generated by complex systems, such as markets, is presented. The basic idea of the approach is the Law of Self-Similar Evolution, according to which any complex system develops self-similarly. There always exist some internal laws governing the evolution of a system, say of a market, so that each of such systems possesses its own character regulating it...
